Amenities galore in Tapestry at Wesbrook Village neighbourhood
When you move to Tapestry at Wesbrook Village, a complete neighbourhood awaits. We are located in the largest of six neighbourhoods at the University of British Columbia (UBC). And there are plenty of amenities here including shopping, services, recreation and outdoor adventure just steps from your front door.“ A lot of people come for a tour of Tapestry not knowing what to expect. Some have walked by and didn’t realize our building was a seniors’ community, because it blends in so well with the rest of the village,” says Natalie Wallace Toews, Resident Services Manager.
The beautifully appointed Tapestry building, which features light wood finishings and plenty of windows to let in natural light and views of nature, was one of the first to be built in this Master Planned community that has almost everything anyone could need.
You can do your banking and insurance, pop into a small independent bakery or pharmacy, see a doctor, dentist or optometrist and even get care for your pet. There are also a variety of dining out options in the neighbourhood, and the closest grocery store is only a two-minute walk away!
“Really you have everything you need to live here and so many resources at your fingertips,” says Natalie. “We have people who move here from other provinces, some to be closer to family, and they are always amazed and surprised at how close everything is. When you are starting fresh in a new city it can be overwhelming but at Wesbrook Village you just need to learn the village, not all of Vancouver,” she adds.
The neighbourhood is also very diverse (reflecting the diversity of Vancouver) with all ages from young families to UBC students, to older adults. “Many of our residents choose suites that are facing Wesbrook Mall because they enjoy watching the energy of the people going by,” says Natalie.
An added bonus is that this Tapestry community is surrounded by forest and close to nature, including Pacific Spirit Regional Park and beaches. Opportunities for walking and hiking abound. “People who live here really enjoy the blend of the quaint, urban village feel with being close to the forest and to nature,” Natalie says.
There are multiple parks, sports and entertainment venues nearby, including the University Golf Club which has a scenic 18-hole, par-72 course. And even more amenities are a short drive or bus ride away in the West 10th, Dunbar and Kerrisdale neighbourhoods.
Residents of Wesbrook Village are also entitled to discounts for select University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) services and UBC facilities, including the Botanical Garden, the Museum of Anthropology, the UBC Aquatic Centre and access to Vancouver Public Libraries.
Whether you are popping across the street to get your nails done, pick up some specialty tea, or meet friends for coffee or lunch, you will feel like part of the neighbourhood living at Wesbrook Village. If you are considering making a move to retirement living, please contact us and we would be pleased to host you for lunch and a tour.
