It was a joyous day at Tapestry at Victoria Harbour as the community gathered to celebrate resident Don and unveil his Ambassador video, the first in our 2022 series. Tapestry Ambassadors are resident spokespeople who proudly share their story of living in one of our communities and how the experience has enriched their lives.

Tapestry’s theatre played host to Don’s friends and family as well as fellow residents who joined in to view the spectacular video highlighting his life history, favourite memories and the joy he experiences “living the dream” at Tapestry.  It was an exciting way to showcase the vibrancy and spirit of our newest award-winning community in Victoria.

The event started with a speech from General Manager, Amber Reis, outlining the process of filming with Don and all the memories they shared during the experience. Resident Services Manager, Cameron Ballendine, added a few lovely words before Don’s video was presented to the community and guests.

“Don reflects the best of Tapestry with his infectious and enthusiastic approach to life,” says Amber. “He has tremendous energy that inspires all of us to live our best lives and fully embrace a new age.”

The event concluded with a speech from Don as well as a cooking demonstration assisted by Victoria Harbour’s Executive Chef, James West. As they prepared Don’s famous Almond & Pear Tart, the two joked while presenting a fun demonstration of one of Don’s favourite treats.
