Sweet Sounds of Summer Surround Village Gate West
The sweet sounds of summer were heard throughout the courtyard at Tapestry at Village Gate West when the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, Woodwind Quartet, played to an attentive group of residents at the active aging community for independent adults on July 28.
The Etobicoke Philharmonic’s special visit to Tapestry was designed to thank and recognize residents for their patronage to the community orchestra. This unique concert was held in the community’s lovely courtyard to allow for physical distancing, including providing the option for residents to enjoy the Quartet’s melodic refrains from the comfort of their own spacious balconies.
“We were thrilled to welcome the Woodwind Quartet to Village Gate West,” says Kevin Davison, General Manager. “This special event recognizes our unique relationship with the Etobicoke Philharmonic and is also an example of the diverse and creative wellness programs we offer at our community to help our residents live healthy, engaged, purposeful and socially connected lives.”
“It was a perfect summer afternoon at our community,” says Barbara, who is a resident at Tapestry at Village Gate West. “The Woodwind Quartet played an outdoor concert in our beautiful courtyard, including selections from Gershwin to Mozart, while we enjoyed summertime refreshments served by attentive Tapestry employees. It truly doesn’t get any better than this!”
