Tapestry at Victoria Harbour was filled with warmth, love and laughter as the community launched its latest Ambassador video featuring our amazing resident Angie and her beloved dog, Charlie.

The special event held on November 24th, 2022, started with an introduction by Amber Reis, General Manager. She reminded the large group gathered about the importance of Tapestry’s Ambassadors, who share their stories and experiences to create an authentic perspective of what it is like to live in one of our unique retirement communities for active aging adults.

Amber’s remarks were followed by the video premiere and a presentation from Angie who shared more photographs and information about her incredible life story and her philosophy that life is to be fully lived – “outside of the box” – at every age.

The community, which was adorned with incredible quilts created by Angie over the years, never looked more welcoming or beautiful. Each of Angie’s quilts represents an extraordinary display of creativity and talent, including her magnificent “one piece wonder” which was actually made from a single piece of fabric and crafted painstakingly over two years.

This spectacular quilt is actually the only one Angie has ever kept as all of her other hand-crafted masterpieces are a labour of love gifted to family and friends, often to mark significant milestones in the journey of their lives.

As shared during her Ambassador event, Angie’s latest quilt creation is still very much a work in progress. This quilt, which is a symphony of colours, beautifully depicts a stained-glass window as if magically lit from behind.

While getting a close-up look at the quilts on display, guests at the video launch enjoyed many of Angie’s favourite treats, including macaroons, cookies and lemon blueberry compote. As a token of thanks for attending, each guest took home a lovely box filled with macaroons and a reminder from Angie, “not to let anything or anyone hold you back”.

Tapestry is pleased and proud to recognize Angie as its most recent resident Ambassador. We appreciate her philosophy of life and thank her for sharing how wonderful it feels to be a Tapestry resident.
