Tapestry Heroes Saluted by Community-Minded Friends
With the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Canadians had to reflect and adapt to stay protected and healthy. At Tapestry, our response was no different. Our employees and residents have collaborated to protect the health of our communities from COVID-19.
Our employees have found extraordinary ways to engage our residents and keep them socially connected while delivering a full roster of events and activities aligned to the 7 Dimensions of Wellness.
Time and again our employees have been referred to as the heroes they truly are. The incredible contributions they have made continue to be recognized by our residents and their family members.
We were thrilled when Mathias and Holden, two elementary school boys with big hearts, decided to make a difference in the community by recognizing frontline workers, including our employees at Tapestry at Wesbrook Village where Holden’s Omi (grandmother) had been a resident.
Putting aside their usual summer pursuits, Mathias and Holden launched a fundraising campaign to collect ingredients for a special “thank you” package. Over the summer, both boys worked with a number of businesses around Vancouver who donated cash and supplies to create wonderful gift bags containing fresh and sustainable ingredients to make rigatoni in a tomato basil sauce.
“Our employees were thrilled by the generosity of Holden and Mathias”, says Natalie Wallace, Wellness Manager. “Their thoughtfulness and recognition was very special and much appreciated by all who received the gift bags.”
Tapestry thanks our young friends, sponsors and donors for their generous support and recognition of our employees. This delicious tribute of thanks not only nourished our bodies, but warmed our souls!
