#WellnessWednesday: Stretching With Jenn at Tapestry Wesbrook Village
As we aim to continually engage residents and inspire them to pursue wellness in all of its dimensions, we have launched a new video series, called #Wellness Wednesday. This series will focus on leading physical activities that our viewers can accomplish in the comfort of their own home.
This week’s video features Tapestry at Wesbrook Village’s Kinesiologist Jenn Berg leading us through one of her favourite classes to teach — stretching! Jenn says this is a great and easy way to stretch and start your day, and the best part is all you need is a chair! Jenn encourages residents to take this class three to four times a week to maintain flexibility.
Our Kinesiologist Jenn: Jenn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and has a Post Baccalaureate Diploma (PBD) in Gerontology from Simon Fraser University. Jenn grew up in Ottawa but has always been drawn to the West Coast as her grandparents lived on Salt Spring Island, BC. Jenn has worked in fitness centres and multi-disciplinary clinics with physiotherapists, chiropractors and occupational therapists, and has significant experience working with active aging adults. She enjoys running and playing tennis, and since moving to Vancouver, has picked up skiing as a new hobby. Jenn’s favourite workouts are functional High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) sessions and kickboxing classes. Jenn enjoys making our virtual workout videos, but can’t wait to resume classes at beautiful Wesbrook Village!
